‘Nemesis’ oil on canvas panel still life painting

Nemesis is an original rustic still life oil painting of a fox’s skull and a guinea fowl feather. The skull, and several feathers were found on a dog walk.

Still life setup and initial charcoal drawing

The still life was setup in a corner of my painting space with a minimal lighting arrangement. The composition was blocked-in with vine charcoal, which was then fixed. Scumbles and glazes of oil paint were then built up to complete the painting.
