‘Winter light’ watercolour landscape painting
Every Winter I look forward to the possibility of snow and it’s effects on the light in the landscape. The unique quality of sunlight in a snowscape presents interesting challenges. In the past I have enjoyed using oils, but the particular qualities of watercolours are offering new and interesting ways of approaching this subject. This painting depicts a view of early morning sunlight across the common at Chorleywood, made with pure transparent watercolour. The paper is an archive quality watercolour paper.
